About MBG
The Marlborough Brandt Group (MBG) is a registered charity founded in 1981 in response to the Brandt Commission Report, which advocated increased contact between the industrialised and the developing worlds.
In 1982 it established a community link between Marlborough (Wiltshire, UK) and Gunjur (Kombo South, The Gambia).
It has 3 key activities:
Linking, people to people exchanges, is at the core of our work. (MBG is a key member of UKOWLA, the UK One World Linking Association).
The Wiltshire Global Education Centre was formed in 1990 to promote Global Education and share the experiences of the link with Wiltshire schools and the wider community.
MBG provides support for development projects through our Gambian partner organisation TARUD.
