Donations - Becoming a Member

Become a Member

Thank you for showing interest in becoming a member of the Marlborough Brandt Group. It is enormously important to us that we are rooted in a community of people who back our aims. We couldn't exist without the 300 or so people who have committed themselves, either in terms of their time or their money, or their attendance at events and concerts, to supporting the work of MBG.

Gambian childTo become a member or make a regular or one-off donation, contact us and we will send you the appropriate paperwork. You will see that we suggest a minimum subscription of £25 per person per year, or £40 per family or £15 for students/OAPs.

This will enable you to keep in touch with the organisation through the newsletter produced three times a year; through extra mailings giving you details of forthcoming events and activities, and through the Annual Report produced each May. You will also be invited to the AGM each year and will have full voting rights.

We have suggested £25 as a minimum figure but, as you will understand, although it covers basic membership costs it does not contribute towards our fundraising programme for projects in The Gambia.

MBG has a fundraising programme supporting a variety of projects in The Gambia.

Make a one-off gift - by making a one-off donation to MBG you can contribute to a specific part of our fundraising programme and know that your money is targeted as you want it.

If you are a regular UK tax payer we are able to increase your donation by 28% at no extra expense to you through the Gift Aid scheme run by the UK Government. All that is required is that you fill in and sign a Gift Aid declaration available on request.

Make a regular gift - by contributing regularly to MBG we are able to plan the longer time scale projects in our fundraising programme. If you are a regular UK tax payer we are able to increase your donation by 28% at no extra expenses to you through the Gift Aid scheme run by the UK Government, all that is required is that you fill in and sign a Gift Aid declaration available on request.

To make a regular gift you simply need to contact us and we will send you the appropriate paperwork.

Leave a gift in your Will - Supporters can choose to remember MBG in their Will. They see it as a logical extension of their lifetime of support. This type of support makes up a vital part of our funding.

Knowing that money will become available to us in future years means that we can invest now in the long-term development work that has achieved such worthwhile results. It is because of people like you who name MBG in their Will today, that in years to come there will be funding available to continue our work.

If you are thinking of making or changing a Will and would like more information, MBG has an information pack which could help save you time and money by taking you through the steps that you need to consider before seeing your solicitor.
