Linking
The Marlborough Brandt Group has established a 25 year link between Marlborough in the county of Wiltshire, UK, and Gunjur in The Gambia. From this, almost 700 people from The Gambia and the UK have benefited.
The link between the two communities is marked by signs at the entrances to the two towns.
Our link now covers:
Annual summer visits of 12-15 usually younger people -
- Alternate years in each community
- Visitors stay in family homes
Volunteering opportunities for young people with relevant skills to spend a few months in Gunjur.
Training and work placements: MBG makes arrangements for young Gambians to undergo training or work placements in Marlborough. Please contact us if you are able to offer a placement here in Marlborough.
