Volunteering

TARUD and other institutions in Gunjur are sometimes short of skilled staff. Opportunities arise for those with particular skills to spend time in Gunjur and surrounding villages.

Volunteering offers a very rewarding experience and is arranged through MBG in consultation with TARUD.

Periods range from a few weeks, up to a few months and you would live with a host family in the village.

Relevant skills include -

• Water engineering
• Agricultural development
• Health care
• Medical/paramedical
• Carpentry, metalwork
• IT
• Teaching

Whilst away, there are some opportunities to travel in The Gambia. Please note that you usually pay your own travel expenses and that it is important to have adaptability and sensitivity to different cultures.
